Rutgers Closes out Fall Racing at Home

Rutgers Crew hosted the 9th annual Rutgers Fall Classic Regatta on Saturday. After a day of heavy rain, the Raritan River was running high and fast for the day's racing. The freshmen eights raced the full distance, upstream for 2.5 miles. The Varsity fours which raced later in the day rowed a shortened course of 1.75 miles. Rutgers Freshmen finished 8th, 10th, and 11th,behind Navy lightweights, Navy heavyweights, and Bucknell. Rutgers varsity fours finished 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 9th. The top Rutgers four covered the 1.75 mile course in 15:56, 26 seconds off the winning Bucknell crew. The crew now looks forward toward preparing for the spring racing season.
